This smoothie is absolutely everything and is definitely one of my favorites! It is made with wholesome ingredients and is cool, creamy, minty fresh, and filling. It’s like eating mint chocolate chip ice cream, but without all of the added sugar. Whenever I drink this it’s like having dessert for breakfast. It even satisfies my evening sweet tooth!

As I mentioned before this smoothie is very thick and creamy. If you prefer your smoothies to be less thick and ice cold you can add ½ a cup of crushed ice.

Can you taste the Avocado in the Smoothie?

Not really! The main flavors in this recipe are the mint and chocolate. Avocado has an overall mild flavor so it really compliments almost anything you pair it with. All of the healthy fats in the avocado add the perfect creamy texture.

Can you make this ahead of time?

The freshest way to drink this is to make it right before you plan to drink it, but you certainly can prepare this the night before. Just pour it in a mason jar or your favorite smoothie container with an airtight lid and give it a good stir in the morning.

You can also combine all of your ingredients besides the almond milk, honey, and yogurt ahead of time. Just store your frozen ingredients in a zip lock bag and pop it in your freezer. Then in the morning, you can add the frozen ingredients, the almond milk, honey, and yogurt to your blender and you are good to go!

Pro tip

Don’t forget to top your smoothie with chocolate chips and mint. It really takes this smoothie to the next level! I love the taste of the mint in the first few sips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 15 mint leaves 
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt 
  • 1 frozen banana 
  • 1/2 avocado (pit removed)
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips 
  • A few chocolate chips to sprinkle on top
  • Mint for garnish 

Instructions

Add the almond milk, honey, mint leaves, greek yogurt, frozen banana, and avocado to your blender and process until smooth.

Add your chocolate chips and pulse, but do not blend until smooth. There should be little bits of chocolate throughout the smoothie.

Pour your smoothie into your favorite smoothie glass and garnish with chocolate chips and mint.
