Steak Frites y’all!
This meal is so good! I don’t make this recipe often, but when I do everyone loves it. We’ve been using our grill a lot lately and I have to admit it is pretty amazing. I don’t know why we waited so long to use it, but we sure are making up for lost time. I especially love this recipe because the crispy air fryer fries are such a time saver!

If you don’t own a grill you can easily make the steaks in a cast iron skillet on the stovetop. It will still be delicious. We used two boneless ribeye steaks which tend to be a little fattier, but we didn’t mind because it has a lot of flavor. You could use whichever cut of steak you prefer.
I wasn’t planning on posting this recipe which is why I don’t have exact measurements for all of the seasoning I used. By the time this meal was finished being prepared, it looked so tasty that I decided to post it anyway.

When I cook, I like to season my meat pretty heavily. You can make a great steak with just salt, pepper, and butter, but I like to be a little….extra.
I suggest portioning out the spices to your liking. When I seasoned the steaks all of the spices were about equal in measurements.
If I had to guess I’d say maybe a ½ tablespoon of each seasoning for both steaks? I hope the pictures below will give you an idea of how much seasoning I used. I usually let my steaks marinate overnight or for at least a few hours before grilling.

Cast Iron
- Heat your cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, about 2 minutes; add canola or vegetable oil.
- Place the steaks in the center of the cast iron and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add a couple of tablespoons of butter to the opposite side of the pan. If you have fresh garlic and thyme add that too!
- Spoon butter over the steaks for an additional 1-2 minutes, turning over once.
- Continue to cook until your desired doneness. (See notes below for steak doneness temperatures). Once cooked transfer your steaks to a cutting board, garnish your steaks with butter and fresh parsley, tent loosely with foil and let rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
